Mailboxes
A mailbox is an email address that feeds one of your Corpus.
A mailbox is an email address that feeds one of your Corpus. Anything sent to it is
collected and ingested — no upload page, no connector to configure.
Forward a thread, put the address in copy of a supplier, hand it to a scanner or to a
form that sends a confirmation email: what arrives becomes knowledge your Corpus can
answer from. It is the shortest route from "somebody emailed us this" to "our assistant
knows it".
Where they live
Mailboxes belong to a Corpus, so you manage them from that Corpus.
Open a Corpus and scroll to the Mailboxes section. The five most recent are listed
there; See more opens the full list, which loads the rest as you scroll.
Open a mailbox ✨
Tap New mailbox. Only the name is required — it is how you will recognise this
mailbox later: Support inbox, Invoices, Press review.
Two settings are worth a thought:
- Language — the language your senders actually write in. Every document this
mailbox produces inherits it, which is what lets your Corpus search them properly. - What is ingested — whether the mailbox keeps the body and the attachments (the
default), the attachments only, or the body only.
Save, and the platform mints your address.
The address 📮
The address appears as soon as the mailbox exists, and you can copy it with a tap. It is
long and unmemorable on purpose: it carries a secret, and it is the only thing the
platform checks when mail arrives.
Treat the address like a password. Anyone holding it can write into yourCorpus. If it ever leaks, delete the mailbox and open another — an address can never
be changed.
It starts paused
A brand-new mailbox is paused and collects nothing. That is deliberate: you get to
check the address and the settings before the first message lands. Start it from the
button offered right after it is created, or from the switch on its card whenever you
are ready.
Collecting, or paused
The switch on each card starts and stops the collection.
- Collecting — mail sent to the address is ingested.
- Paused — the address stays reserved, and mail sent to it is refused.
Pausing is not deleting. A paused mailbox keeps its address, so nobody else can ever be
given it, and turning it back on resumes the collection.
Browse what a mailbox collected 📥
Tap a mailbox to open its inbox: everything it collected, newest first. It is a
supervision screen rather than a mail client — you can read what arrived and check what
reached the Corpus, but not reply or sort.
On a wide screen the list sits on the left and the message on the right. On a phone, tap
a message to open it on its own page.
Did it reach the Corpus?
Every message says whether its body was ingested.
- Body ingested — the text became a document, and the button beside it opens the
preview. - Body not ingested — nothing from the text reached the Corpus: the mailbox keeps
attachments only, or the message had no body, or the mailbox was paused when it
arrived.
Attachments
The files a message carried are listed at the bottom of it, with the name, type and size
the message declared. An attachment that was ingested opens its preview like any other
document.
One marked Not kept never became a document: the mailbox's strategy excluded it, or
its type is not one the platform ingests. There is no way to retrieve it. If a file
somebody sent is missing from your Corpus, this list is where you find out why.
Change a mailbox 🛠️
The ⋮ menu on a card leads to its settings, where you can change the name, the
description, the language and what it keeps.
The address and the Corpus cannot change. Both are baked into an address your
senders already hold, so moving either would silently redirect or break the mail.
Replacing an address means deleting this mailbox and opening another.
Language and strategy apply to the mail collected from then on — they are copied
onto each message as it arrives, so changing them never rewrites what is already in your
Corpus.
Delete a mailbox 🗑️
Deleting is permanent and asks you to confirm. The address stops resolving and mail sent
to it is refused from then on; it is never handed to anyone else either.
The documents already collected are not deleted. They belong to the Corpus, andretiring an address says nothing about the mail it carried.
Nothing arriving?
Two things to check, in order:
- Is the mailbox collecting? A paused mailbox refuses everything sent to it, and
that is by far the most common reason an inbox stays empty. The state is shown at the
top of the inbox and on the card. - Is the file type one we ingest? Open the message and look at its attachments. A
Not kept chip tells you the file arrived and was excluded — either by the
mailbox's strategy, or because the platform does not ingest that type. See
Documents for the accepted formats.
